Since 2018, the Carleton University Ravens baseball club has organized an annual Labour Day weekend tournament that brings together the region’s top senior prep programs and Canadian university baseball teams.
Originally hosted with the support of the Ottawa Nepean Canadians from 2018 to 2019, the tournament was organized by the Capital City Reds in 2021 and by the Ottawa Knights in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, ONC baseball resumed co-hosting with the Carleton Ravens.
The annual Labour Day tournament provides university teams with an opportunity to prepare for the upcoming Fall schedule and finalize their rosters. It provides prep teams with high level competition, the opportunity for exposure to Canadian university recruiters, and a chance to play teams they normally do not compete against.
