As the Carleton Ravens wind down their second successful week of Summer Camp baseball, they took a moment to recognize the volunteer efforts of U15 Ottawa Knights catcher James Casey.
Casey has supported instructors Manny Restrepo and Ryan Burnside during both weeks of the camp including set-up and tear-down of equipment and manning drill stations with younger campers.
“He has freed up our instructors to concentrate even more so on developing skills” commented team President George Rigakos, who presented Casey with a certificate on Wednesday.
“You have to recognize this type of community support, especially from a young man who has been nothing but positive for the camp” added Rigakos.
Ravens head coach Andre Robidoux who has worked with the Knights applauded Casey’s efforts: “Our Ravens players volunteer to support Little Leagues so it’s really nice to see that community support reciprocated. It’s important to acknowledge the effort.”
Casey and his U15 Knights head for Vermont this weekend just as the Ravens Summer Camp wraps up.
